How To Start a Blog
Blogging
First off, the steps I outline here are for blogs that are hosted by a real hosting company. Not the free blogs you can start on various platforms including WordPress.com or blogger.com or Tumblr.com etc... They are all fine to utilize but this means you may not really have 100% control over your site and its customization. Remember, the "Free" blogs are in fact hosted on a platform you have no control over... PERIOD!

If you are serious about starting a blog, let's get serious about achieving this correctly. I'm going to outline these easy steps below that may have your own blog up and running within about Half an hour. Of course this will depend on just how you can follow directions. Should you ask me to begin a blog from scratch, I can do it within eight minutes flat. It's super easy once you learn. It's like buttoning a shirt. once you learn you'll be able to always jump on a bike and ride.
OK, you can forget wasting time here. Let us get started:
Step #1: Set-Up A website hosting service
Setting up a hosting account will be the first crucial step in starting a blog. This is actually the place that will host (or store) your website. The most common name I bet it may seem of is probably GoDaddy.com right? Hold your horses, before you jump right to Go Daddy, there are other choices that are available as well as in my opinion (and many opinions of numerous other professional bloggers) BlueHost is the way to go. Why? Since they are platform is very user-friendly (for non-technical dummies much like me) and their platform is geared for hosting blogs. I've got a GoDaddy account and a Bluehost account and without a doubt, Bluehost is definitely easier to use.
Step #2: Uploading the WordPress Widget
The really cool thing about Bluehost is the fact that with the click of just one button your blog will set itself up. Yup, it is that easy. All you do is log on, go to the cPanel and click on the tiny "Install WordPress" icon. The instructions after that are easy to follow. This part takes only about 1 minute to finish. Once you finish this task your blog is almost all set to go. Well, technically it is ready to go now but when you see step #3 you'll see what I mean.
Step #3: Changing the template
When you go shopping to the mall, you see a huge selection of stores right? You enter some that have an excellent vibe and a super charged atmosphere, although some have no customers and you may almost hear the crickets in the shadows. Before too long these stores are broke. That's how you blog works too. Without having a great look and feel for your blog people won't stay for too long. I recommend changing the theme to something eye-catching that meets your topic. Don't accept the standard template which comes preloaded.
